Tales of Honouring AND Releasing Our Sh*t

Special holiday edition stories of clearing resentment, shame, guilt, fear and grief

Welcome to the holiday edition of Sonic Medicine.

I’m diving in to speak to all the sh*t that might be coming up for you at this supposed to be loving and festive time of year.

And more so, this episode is about sharing stories from my life and my dear clients where we bravely and with grace were able and willing to honour and release our shit.

And by “shit”, I mean all those those hard feelings that are blocking our capacity to love, are clouding our judgment, making us unnecessarily stressed, trapped in our bodies, and even sick.

Listen close, as I share some harrowing tales…

Of my lowest point twenty years ago, standing on a rooftop wanting to fall over the edge.

And more recently, my biggest failure and success as a therapist.

Also, me touching on the grief of losing our most beloved cat, Misha (pic below of right before he died)…

I tell these tales not to depress you, but to offer you a clarity about why we hold onto our hard feelings thereby having them turn into undigested shit.

And more importantly how we can learn together to honour and release them in solidarity together.

The benefits are profound.

Our anger and resentment unleashed becomes agency to change what we can and acceptance of what we cannot.

Our fear and anxiety felt fully lead to freedom and growing sense of courage and capacity to face the unknown.

The guilt eating us up comes through to compell us through remorse to repair and do better.

The shame that was making us hide and even want to die, when vomited out, makes us more humbled and whole, leaving us with clarity about who we are and who we are not.

And the grief… which I spoke to in the story of Mark who was drowning in it… it becomes a sea of solace. A place that refreshes us with the precious knowing we will lose everyone and everything we hold dear on the outside. And yet, we can hold our love and know our bond is even strong on the inside as we cherish them with immense gratitude.

Lastly, I will continue speaking of these miracles of men learning to respect the natural process of our body’s wisdom… to feel and to release emotions.

It can be a matter of life and death — as it was for me and my client.

I hope it gives you something of value to listen…
