I am reminded at this time about how much we need each other.
How much our sorrow, our anger, fear and grief are warranted…
And… in the video and audio above I sing you a song that reminds me of where my power and promise of a better world lies.
“Catch me brother, as I fall.
Brace me sister, as I stu-umble.
We shall hold each other
Through the storm
We shall hold each other
As the world crumbles all around…”
Further thoughts to share:
Some who I love and are in my circles talk of this as a “necessary” collapse but I refuse to accept it. It feels like saying to the patient, “Well the cancer has spread… we just need to let it run its course.”
Fuck that!
I dream of a better world for my daughter to inherit and wake up every day to do my part to co-create it…
As I know many of us do!
Can’t do it alone.
For me the soil I am building over my lifetime is about growing generative communities of reciprocal and nourishing culture...
This is a collective labour with no end.
It is the most healthy and sane response I can imagine and muster.
Grateful to be digging in the dirt along side those of you doing generative work in our lives and in the world.
Let it be that one our strongest muscles is learning to hold each other through the coming storms.
